WC Health Department Offering Flu Shots on Election Day

Whiteside County Health Department will conduct two flu shot clinics on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Rock Falls and Morrison.

Whiteside County Health Department nurses will administer influenza vaccines at Merrill School, 600 4th Ave., Rock Falls, and at Odell Public Library, 307 South Madison St., Morrison, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Although Whiteside County Health Department encourages everyone to vote, people who are not voting are welcome to get their flu shot at those two locations.

The flu shot costs $25, payable by cash or check. Medicare Part B and Medicaid will be billed if a Medicare or Medicaid card is shown at the time of visit. Pneumococcal vaccines will be available at all flu shot clinics for $35 for anyone ages 2 years old and above.

“This is a great opportunity for our especially vulnerable to illness during the winter to do their patriotic duty and at the same time help themselves by taking advantage of having a flu shot,” said Beth Fiorini, public health director of Whiteside County.

Whiteside County Health Department is continuing to administer flu shots weekdays on a walk-in basis from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Health Department, 1300 W. Second St., Rock Falls.
