Whiteside County Sheriff’s Reports

Traffic Stop Ends in Arrest
Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a vehicle on October 8, 2008 at approximately 2:30 a.m. for Improper Lane Usage and ultimately arrested the driver, Jennifer M. Church 27, Morrison for (2) counts of DUI and Improper Lane Usage Violation(s). Church was processed and released on bond, pending a November 13, 2008 court date in Whiteside County Court.

Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol Charge
Whiteside Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Garden Plain Road, west of Morrison on October 11, 2008 at 12:56 a.m. During the course of the traffic stop, Amber D. Francque, 19, Morrison was arrested on charges of Unlawful Consumption of an Alcoholic Beverage as a Minor. Francque was released with a Notice to Appear on November 17, 2008 in Whiteside County Court. Morrison Police assisted at the scene.

Rollover Driver Flees Scene
Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the intersection of Illinois Route 172 and Prophetstown Road on October 11, 2008 to investigate a single vehicle rollover accident. Upon arrival officers found that the driver had fled the scene. During the course of the investigation Mikhaily Y. Sorochan, 18, Sterling was arrested for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Crash and Failure To Report a Crash to the Law Enforcement. He reportedly swerved to miss a deer and rolled his vehicle. Randy’s Truck Repair assisted on the scene.

Rollover with Injuries
Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to another vehicle rollover accident on October 15, 2008 at approximately 2 a.m. The accident happened on Garden Plain Road near Garden Plain when Wendy L. Bell, 44, Clinton, swerved to miss a deer. She was transported to Mercy Medical Center four treatments of her injuries. Additionally Bell was arrested for DUI and Too Fast for Conditions. Albany Fire and EMS, Midwest Collision and Fulton Police assisted at the scene.

Rollover with Injuries
Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single vehicle roll over crash on October 19, 2008 at approximately 9:11 p.m. The accident occurred on West Lincolnway 3/10th of a mile west of Emerson Road. The investigation revealed that a 2002 GMC Envoy, driven by Todd E. Smith, 45, Sterling was traveling eastbound on West Lincolnway when he failed to negotiate a curve and entered the south ditch. The vehicle skidded sideways, collided with a driveway drainage tube, causing the vehicle to roll. Smith was transported to CGH Medical Center for injuries. He was arrested for DUI – Alcohol and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident/ He was released with a Notice to Appear in Court.
