Lyndon Road Closure

The Whiteside County Highway Department is announcing the closure of Lyndon Road to all traffic beginning at 7:00 AM on Tuesday, October 21st, 2008 for 4 to 5 days (weather permitting) to allow the Union Pacific Railroad to replace the crossing just east of Morrison on Lyndon Road south of Route 30. The closed section of Lyndon Road is bordered by Route 30 on the north to Bunker Hill Road on the south for a total of approximately 2 miles. The area is located approximately 1 1/2 miles east of the City of Morrison and 1/4 mile south of Route 30.

The Union Pacific (UP) Railroad will perform the work with their forces and signing will help to inform traffic until work on the crossing is completed. There will be no marked detours. Motorists are advised to adjust their travel plans where possible to avoid the construction area.

For additional information concerning the project, please contact the Whiteside County Highway Department at 815-772-7651.
