Two-Vehicle Accident Sends Two to Hospital

Wilson vehicle

Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a two-vehicle accident at US Route 30 and Feldman Road at approximately 5:15 p.m. on October 8, 2008.

An eastbound vehicle driven by Gary Folkers, 63, of Morrison, was slowing to make a right hand turn onto Feldman Road. A second eastbound vehicle driven by Robert D. Wilson, 39, Morrison, failed to see the Folkers vehicle slowing for the turn, due to being distracted in his vehicle. The Wilson vehicle then struck the rear of the Folkers vehicle, sending it into a spin onto Feldman Road and the Wilson vehicle to the shoulder.

Morrison Ambulance transported Folkers and a passenger in the Wilson vehicle, Jerilynn Wilson, 4, to Morrison Hospital with minor injuries. Both were treated and released.

Wilson was cited for Failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released pending a later court date. This is merely a charge and Wilson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Morrison and Rock Falls Police Departments and Rick’s Auto Body and Hunter’s Towing also assisted deputies at the scene.
