Hospice of the Rock River Valley Welcomes New Staff

Hospice of the Rock River Valley (HRRV) is pleased to announce the addition of Tamela Adams to the Hospice team. Tamela has been working on the clinical team as a registered nurse and will be aiding the team by serving as Assistant Director of Nursing.

"As our programs continue to grow we are pleased to have professional personnel to serve our clients, families and communities," said Executive Director Carolyn Spencer.

Tamela joined HRRV in mid June. As a clinical team member, Adams will be responsible for direct patient care as well as some administrative duties as Assistant Director of Nursing.

Prior to joining Hospice of the Rock River Valley, Adams has spent time working in the ICU departments at both Rockford Memorial Hospital and CGH Medical Center. Tamela also served for five years as an EMT for the Chadwick Fire Protection District. Adams also helps with her daughter’s Girl Scout troop and is a member of Abiding Word Church.

Of her new position, Adams said, "I came to Hospice because I was looking for a new perspective in nursing. I hope to be the nurse that helps our patients and clients during this most difficult time in their life. I am honored to be a part of an organization that provides such a great service to the community.”

Tamela enjoys four-wheeling, collecting Longaberger items, garage sales, singing karaoke, playing softball and volleyball and shopping with her daughter.

“We are excited and very pleased to have Tamela as part of our Hospice team," said Carolyn Spencer, Executive Director.

HRRV exists to provide physical care and emotional support to people who are facing difficult end-of-life decisions. A team of doctors, RNs, CNAs, social workers, clergy, bereavement specialists and volunteers ensure patients and families have the necessary support in their time of need.
