Jill Horn to Present Her Book - "A Change of Heart"

The Odell Public Library Board will honor new writer, Jill Horn, on Sunday, October 19, 2008, beginning at 3:00 PM. Ms. Horn will present her book, “A Change of Heart,” a fictitious novella that details the complex decisions of the main character, Jill, to leave the United States, move to Guatemala and teach children. Jill will not only discuss her book and share excerpts, but will also answer questions from the audience.

Ms. Horn is a Morrison native, graduating from Morrison High School in 1982. She has a degree in Mathematics Education from Northern Illinois University and is currently a math instructor at Sauk Valley Junior College. From 2002-2007, Jill taught math at the Christian Academy of Guatemala in Guatemala City, Central America.

When asked why she wrote the book, Jill answered, “So many people have said to me that they always wanted to do something like what I did. It is these people I would like to encourage with this book.” The cost of the book is $6.00 and the author will sign copies after the discussion.

The Board of the Odell Public Library invites the community to share in this informative event and to meet another native, current author in our midst. A social time will follow the book presentation and discussion.
