Parting Comments from Retiring Police Chief Huling

With this day being my last day of work before my retirement, I would like to thank the community of Morrison for its support during the past 8 1/2 years as the Chief of Police. There has never been a higher honor bestowed upon me. Having served this community for 34 years, I have mixed emotions about my departure, but I leave knowing that the new police chief, and officers of this Department, will continue to serve Morrison with professionalism and care.

You may not always be satisfied with the response you received when you call the police, but I personally know that our police officers do everything they can, within the limits of the law, to satisfactorily resolve the situations they encounter. It should be known that every officer on this Department lives within the community of Morrison and, to a man, is concerned with the public safety of our residents. These officers have families here, and raise their children here, so they have a deep personal interest in the well-being of the community.

I look forward to living out my days here as "just another private citizen", something I haven't been since 1974. But I am very blessed to be surrounded by many friends whil will make this life-changing transition a success.

GOD BLESS MORRISON

Ernie Huling,
Chief of Police (Ret)
Morrison Police Department
