CGH Medical Center Sponsors Paint the Town

CGH Medical Center, Sterling, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the 2008 Paint the Town event on Saturday, September 20, 2008, in Morrison, IL. Paint the Town was created in 1994 by the Children’s Art Preservation Association (CAPA) of Morrison as a way to offer hands-on experience in the arts that was fun and affordable for all.

“Studies have shown that the arts help develop life skills, like reasoning, decision making, creative thinking, problem solving and visualizing. We are proud to provide support to this Morrison tradition,” stated Ed Andersen, CEO. “It’s a fun and unique way for families and individuals alike to express themselves, spend a day outside with their family, and collaborate to create a beautiful community display.” During the event, Morrison’s Main Street and adjoining downtown area is blocked off, creating an outdoor canvas consisting of five blocks.

“By becoming a part of this wonderful event, we want to thank Morrison and the surrounding communities for their support of our hospital and clinics,” said Andersen. “We take pride in being a workplace that fosters teamwork, communication, innovation, initiative and professional development,” said Andersen. “State-of-the-art technology and a positive environment are rooted in our philosophy of providing superior patient care.”

A major expansion at CGH, completed in the spring of 2008, included many important advancements. New surgical suites, built to accommodate more diverse procedures, have higher ceilings, brighter lighting and ceiling-suspended technology. The new 18-bed Critical Care Unit, 10-bed Birthing Center, and 18-bed ambulatory surgery department include all private rooms and enhanced security. Plus, there was the addition of a high-field GE MRI, a 64 ring CT scanner, and digital mammography.

“We are committed to meeting expanding patient needs in Morrison, Prophetstown, Fulton and neighboring communities,” said Andersen. “With our dedication to high quality care and modern technology, we trust CGH Medical Center will be your hospital of choice in the future.”
