Guardian Glass Present Check to D.A.R.E. Program

Mel Johnson, a representative of Guardian Glass in Dewitt, Iowa presented D.A.R.E. Officer Gabe Gomez with a check Friday morning.

Employees from the company have been recycling plastic pop bottles. Money received from Pepsi after turning in the 5-cent Iowa bottles is put into a Pop Bottle Fund. Guardian then matches the funds they receive from Pepsi. The money is then split and distributed to different organizations.

“The D.A.R.E. program is a good program and it needs all of the support it can get,” stated Johnson. “We have been doing this for 12 years.”

Morrison’s D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program is taught to Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 5th graders in Morrison.
