IL CHIP Comes to Morrison Once Again

The Illinois Child Identification Program (IL CHIP), sponsored throughout the state by the Masons of Illinois, is being presented for the second time in Morrison on Saturday, September 20th, from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon, at the Morrison Fire Department.

The IL CHIP program was developed to enable parents to provide all vital information needed in the event of the loss of a child. At the conclusion of the registration, each family will receive a packet containing: a digitalized color photo with additional descriptive data, a complete set of fingerprints, a DNA sample for each child, and a recorded interview for voice matching capabilities. The packet can easily be stored at home or in a vehicle while on vacation. A parent or guardian must accompany each child being enrolled. This program is open to all ages and there is no cost to the participants. All costs are subsidized by the Freemasons of Illinois.

Dunlap Lodge #321, of Morrison, with the cooperation of the Morrison Fire Department and thecity1.com (Morrison Online), will be the hosts of the September 20th event. All Morrison area residents with children are urged to participate in IL CHIP. In a time of unexpected separation this vital information could make a difference in returning a missing child to their loving family.
