Looking for funding for your organization or project? Clinton Community College Community Education Department presents Grant Writing That Gets Results on Wednesday, October 1. This six-hour workshop will give you the tools to increase your chances of success in finding grant funding. You will learn about the variety of funders and where to find them, the key requirements funders have, what to do before you write a proposal, methods to use to measure outcomes, and the six components of a winning proposal. The instructor is John Throop of The Summit Planning Group Peoria, Illinois. Dr. John R. Throop has presented nonprofit and management training workshops throughout the Midwest since 1992. He has 30 years of experience in the nonprofit sector as a board member, volunteer, executive director and consultant. He received his D.Min. in 1995 from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California focusing on organizational development in religious organizations. He has been president of The Summit Planning Group for nine years. The Summit Planning Group is a Peoria-based nonprofit and public agency consulting and training firm that has served over 100 organizations throughout the United States. Clients have included the American Red Cross, Prevent Child Abuse America, Habitat for Humanity and numerous community-based nonprofits, public libraries, health departments and community colleges. Since 1997, Dr. Throop has presented nonprofit workshops at Clinton Community College. The class is held from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Clinton Community College, 1000 Lincoln Boulevard, Clinton, IA.
