Mildred E. Michael


October 10, 1921 - August 11, 2008

MILDRED EDNA MICHAEL, 86, of Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton, IA formerly of Fulton, IL, died Monday, August 11, 2008 at the Alverno Health Care Facility.

Mildred was born October 10, 1921 in Antonito, CO to Claudius Roy and Lora Etta (Trostle) Wolf. She graduated from Lanark High School in Lanark, IL in 1939 and later attended LPN Training in 1964. Mildred married Oliver “Mike” Michael on June 7, 1941 in Lanark, IL. He died May 25, 1991. She farmed with her late husband in Ogle and Carroll Counties for 24 years before moving to Fulton, IL in 1968. She worked at Wilson Company in Lanark, IL and later worked as an LPN at the Sterling Hospital and later at Jane Lamb Hospital in Clinton, IA. Mildred was a member of Dutchtown Church of the Brethren in Milledgeville and a member of the Whiteside County Home Extension. She loved to garden and crochet.

Survivors include two daughters, Elaine (Bill) Jenkins of Polo, IL and Donna (Ken) Okland of Fulton, IL; one son, Ken (Pat) Michael of Friendswood, TX; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Joshua, and Matthew Okland, Yvonne (Dave) Goad, and Kristina Michael; two great granddaughters, Olivia and Charlette Goad.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Roy J. Wolf and one in infancy.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 PM Thursday, August 14, 2008 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

OFFICIATING: Rev. Rick Koch – Pastor of the Dutchtown Church of the Brethren – Milledgeville, IL

VISITATION: 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Lanark Cemetery – Lanark, IL
