September 01, 1922 - August 06, 2008 GARRETT HOUSENGA, 85, of 1009 S. Church Street, Albany, IL, died Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at his home. Garrett was born September 1, 1922, in Fulton, IL, to John M. and Annie (Loots) Housenga. He was educated in the Fulton grade schools and attended Fulton High School. He married Bessie A. Reedy on September 26, 1945 in Albany. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Garrett was employed by Fulton Corp. in Fulton for 40 years. He was a member of the Albany United Methodist Church and a volunteer fireman for the Albany Fire Protection District. He had also served on the board of the Albany Grade School. He enjoyed fishing and camping. Survivors include his wife, Bessie; one daughter, Sandra (Mrs. Randy) Moberg of Albany; one son, Gary (Sandra) Housenga of Albany; eight grandchildren, Lori (Mark) Swift, Brian (Anneta) Ammon, Brenda (Troy) Lange, Steven Langy, Traci Kaas, Paul (Stephanie) Housenga, Richard (Wendy) Housenga and Deanna (Lalo) Solis; thirteen great grandchildren, Amanda ( Bob) Brechon, Trevor (Cortney Chase) Swift, Kristen Swift, Zachery Ammon, Nicki Lange & fiancé Zach Stoddard, Sarah Langy, Kira Housenga, Matthew and Joshua Housenga, Cody and Adriana Housenga, Conrado and Alex Solis; two great great grandchildren, Logan Swift and Trey Stoddard; one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Clark of Aurora, IL. He was preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Tammy Lange; four sisters, Nellie Scott, Grace Mangelson, Geneva Shadle and Elizabeth Bogenrief; two brothers, Menno and Marvin Housenga.
