Lawrence Gorzny

Lawrence J. Gorzny, 71, of Morrison, Illinois, died Friday, August 1, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton.

Per his wishes there will be a graveside service for family and friends on Friday, August 8, 2008 at 1 p.m. in Grove Hill Cemetery. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Lawrence Joseph Gorzny was born on May 25, 1937 in Morrison, Illinois, the son of Eugene and Lucylle Bennett. He married Patricia Loechel in March 1982. He was a graduate of Morrison High School.

He was a self-employed carpenter for over 40 years. He also raised and trained horses. He was a former member of the Morrison Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife: Patricia of Morrison; three sons: Mike (Robin) Gorzny, Rick Gorzny, David (Angie) Gorzny, and one daughter: Pam Gorzny; two step-sons: Dan (Terri) Hovey and Randy (Cindy) Hovey; several grandchildren; one brother: Tom (Ginger) Brattain; one sister: Patti (Gary) Sparks; one half-sister: Linda (Randy) Boelkins; and one half-brother: Rod (Jackie) Gorzny.

He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles.

Memorials can be made to the Morrison Fire Department.
