VBS Staff Says Thank-you

By: Tonia Ernst

This summer’s Vacation Bible School was another big success. Again, over 200 children attended every night. The mission project was Heifer International. The children raised enough money to purchase one cow, one llama, and six flocks of chickens. Several families will receive these animals. The animals will enhance the lives of the families by providing food, milk, or income.

The VBS staff would like to thank the following businesses for giving a monetary donation: Mickley Insurance, Community State Bank, Joy Tegler Accounting, Morrison Federal Credit Union, State Farm Insurance, and Advantage One Credit Union.

The following businesses donated either their services or products: Dairy Queen, GE, Blackhawk Lumber, Rockwood Park Restaurant, Sullivan’s, Shop-N-Go, Happy Joe’s, Eldon Nice Dairy Farm, Shell, Fast Stop, Gold Star FS, State Farm, Best Office Supplies, Community State Bank, Subway, D&K Plumbing.

Special thanks to Mr. Steve Hook and Mr. Rich McCoy, the wonderful custodians at the Jr. High. They volunteered their time, muscles, mops, ladders, and much more. Special thanks also to Ellen and Bart at Dairy Queen – your willingness to donate such a large amount of Dilly Bars year after year is simply incredible.

If you were a volunteer for VBS this year, thanks again for your time. If you still have a VBS staff shirt, please turn it in to your church.
