Geraldine L. Brill

Geraldine L. Brill, 85, of Morrison, formerly of Freeport, died Saturday, July 26, 2008, at CGH Medical Center.

Geraldine was born Feb. 11, 1923, in Freeport, the daughter of Frances and Cora Bell (Taylor) Harkins. She was a dental technician with then husband, Dr. Goodwin H. Brill. She also was a homemaker.

Ma, Grandma, and Great-Grandma lived a good life. There were good times and bad times. She loved all animals and raised horses, dogs, and a monkey. Jerry also loved dancing and socializing.

She cherished her family. Jerry, you will be, and are, sadly missed and loved. You will forever be in our hearts and minds. Love, your family.

Survivors include two daughters, Norine (Daniel) Mercer of "Primp Your Pet" in Sterling and Cora Lee "Corky" (Curt) Eggemeier of Durand; one son, Martin (Lynne) Brill of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; seven grandchildren, James Buss, Samantha (Brett Yingling) Buss, Martin P. (Shawn) Brill, Robert W. (Rayette) Brill, Tamara N. Brill, Brady Harnish, and Paula Eggemeier-Sell; and 13 great-grandchildren, Kayci Brill, Brady Brill, Whitney Brill, Sierra Brill, Shelby Brill, Afton Brill, Faith Brill, Elijah McIlquham, Devin Buss, Hayley Buss, Joslyn Buss, Olivia Sell, and Jonathon Sell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Lee Harkins.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls, with the Rev. Judi Huseth of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sterling, officiating.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling.

A memorial has been established.
