January 01, 1918 - July 24, 2008 KATHERINE D. VAN KAMPEN, 90, of 318 Main Avenue, Clinton, IA, died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA. Katherine was born January 1, 1918, in Fulton, IL, to Harry H. and Alice (Smith) Poel. She was educated in the Whiteside County grade schools and attended Fulton High School. She married Timothy Van Kampen on August 8, 1936 in Fulton. He died July 29, 1991. She was employed by the former Patent Novelty Company in Fulton. She then was employed as a nurse’s aid at the Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison, IL. She later worked for the J.C. Penney Store in Clinton, IA and Mt. Vernon, OH. Katherine was a member of First Reformed Church in Fulton. Survivors include two daughters, Arla Morrow of Wheaton, IL and Barbara Postel of Wilton, IA; five sons, Harold (Inge) Van Kampen of Rhinelander, WI, Leon (Donna) Van Kampen of Morrison, IL, Larry (Judy) Van Kampen of Moline, IL, James A. (Janie) Van Kampen of Morrelton, AR, and Tom Van Kampen of Camanche, IA; seveny-two grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tim; one grandson, Steven Van Kampen; two brothers, Marvin and Robert Poel.
