Swimming with Fido at the Bow Wow Luau

My grandson Jalen and puppy Roxy love to swim together.

Animal Birth Control, Inc. of Clinton, Iowa is sponsoring the third annual “Bow Wow Luau” on Sunday, August 17th from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Clinton Municipal Swimming Pool. The pool is located along the riverfront at 101 South First Street in Clinton.

The Bow Wow Luau is a fun event at which dog owners and their pets can swim and play together in the community pool. Admission is $6.00 per dog, and all participants will receive a gift bag, courtesy of the Nestle Purina Company. Admission is free for spectators.

Participants are asked to bring towels for both themselves and their dogs. Changing rooms will be provided for owners and shy canines. Wading pools will be available for small breed dogs. “Waste” bags will also be furnished. Dog owners will be required to have their animals under control at all times.

This event is co-sponsored by the Clinton Department of Parks and Recreation.

Animal Birth Control, Inc. is a nonprofit organization established in Clinton in 1986 as a means to help end our community’s pet overpopulation crisis by helping financially challenged pet owners pay for their pets’ spay and neuter surgeries. Through our spay/neuter subsidy program, we hope to reduce the rate of euthanasia at our local shelter, and to promote happier, healthier pets.
