August 29, 1958 - July 21, 2008 RAYMOND E. “SHORTY” CARPENTER, 49, of 900 15th Avenue, Fulton, IL, died Monday, July 21, 2008 at his home. Shorty was born August 29, 1958, in Moline, IL, to Robert Lee and Carolyn (Dumbauld) Carpenter. He was employed as a millwright for PMI Construction of Cedar Rapids, IA for three years. He was then employed by Drives LLC in Fulton for 17 years. Shorty enjoyed camping and the company of his friends and family. He belonged to WHO ELSE INC. Survivors include his life partner, DeVon Maresh; two daughters, Amanda (R.J. Jensen) Carpenter of Englewood, FL and Samantha Carpenter of Fulton; two sons, Raymond S. Carpenter of Camanche, IA and Trevor Carpenter of Fulton; three grandchildren, Sky, Bobbie and Amie Douglas; his father, Robert (Lorraine) Carpenter of Bettendorf, IA; his mother, Carolyn (Chesley) Johansen of Davenport, IA. He was preceded in death by one brother, William L. Carpenter; his grandparents. Funeral Information FUNERAL SERVICE: There will be no funeral services VISITATION: 1:00 – 3:00 PM Saturday – July 26, 2008 at the Fulton Chapel – Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
