July 19, 1959 - July 17, 2008 STREATOR- Paula L. Medema 48 of rural Streator died Thursday (July 17, 2008) as a result of an automobile accident at the intersection of Route 17 and 11 East Road, rural Streator. Mrs. Medema was born July 19, 1959 in Fulton to Paul and Gretchen (Chase) Bush. She married Jeffrey Medema, August 5, 1978 in Fulton. He survives. She had been employed as a school psychologist at Streator High School almost 20 years as well as Grand Ridge Grade School and was currently at El-Paso- Gridley School District. She attended Fulton grade schools and graduated in three years from Fulton High School in 1976, graduated Sauk Valley Community College in one year, and graduated Suma Cum Laude with a BA degree in Elementary Education and a Masters in School Psychology in three years from Eastern Illinois University. Paula was a very giving person. She loved to sit by her pond that her family made for her Mothers Day and enjoyed the fish and flowers and her gardens. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cross stitch and crafts. She was a loyal supporter of athletic and school events, and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Jeffrey of Streator, her mother Gretchen (Jerry) Cossman, Fulton, one daughter, Arianna (James Wooldridge) Medema in college at ISU, Normal, four sons, Jeffrey (Shelsey Kennedy) Medema, in college at ISU, Normal, Zac (fiancé Maggie Rhynes) Medema, in college at SIU, Edwardsville, Nicholas (Angie Wilson) Medema and Jacob Medema both at home, one brother Kevin (Okcha) Bush, Fulton, mother-in-law and father-in-law ,Eleanor and Jacob Medema both of Fulton. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral Information STREATOR VISITATION: 1:00-5:00 PM Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator FULTON VISITATION: 4:00-8:00 PM Monday, July 21, 2008 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, Fulton, IL FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
