Phernie Tichler

March 05, 1914 - July 13, 2008

PHERNIE TICHLER, 94, of Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, died Sunday, July 13, 2008, at the nursing home.

Phernie was born March 5, 1914 in Garden Plain, IL, to Henry K. and Josie (Newendyke) Eizenga. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County Schools and at Northside Grade School in Morrison, IL. She married Paul Tichler on February 9, 1933 in Fulton, IL. He died June 3, 1965. She was employed at Rich’s Toy Factory and as a custodian for Ebenezer Reformed Church both in Morrison, IL. She also cleaned over 100 homes in Morrison. Phernie was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church and the church’s Lydian Society.

Survivors include four daughters, Audrey (Mrs. Kenneth) Balk and Linda (Mrs. Vernon) Smith both of Fulton, IL; Joyce (Mrs. Phil) Wilkins of Morrison, IL; and Marcia (Mrs. Ron) Mildren of Clinton, IA; four sons, Warren (Roberta) Tichler of Fulton, IL; Vernon (Sherie) Tichler, Marvin (Mary) Tichler, and Larry (Diane) Tichler all of Morrison, IL; forty-one grandchildren; twelve step grandchildren; seventy-nine great grandchildren; fourteen step great grandchildren; twenty-three great great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Loretta Hook of Morrison, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; two daughters, Sharon Sterenberg and Paula Maxson; one son, Robert Tichler; one great grandsons, Jacob James Sterenberg; one sister, Agnes Jansma; and one brother, Marvin Eizenga.

VISITATION: 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery – Morrison, IL
