JOHN R. DAVIS, 62, of 1207 Pleasant Street, Hooppole, IL, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.

John was born on December 30, 1945 in East St. Louis, IL to John and Lavirda (Towle) Davis. He attended grade schools in Caseyville, IL and attended St. Stephen’s Catholic High School in Caseyville, IL. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. John was an over the road truck driver for Vetter Trucking in Hooppole, IL. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.

Survivors include his loving companion and best friend of 26 years, Sheila Sullivan of Hooppole, IL; his three children, Trina, John and Jamie; her children, Desiree’ Norberg, Monica (Ron) Grasty, Derek (Rhonda) Norberg, Shanda Norberg, Shauna (Mel) Gallardo, Joshua (Jenn) Shaw, Erin (Jason) Gilbraith; fifteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his best friends, Henry and Tracy Hilger of Hooppole, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald Davis.

VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, July 08, 2008 at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home – Prophetstown, IL
