Whiteside County Reports

Traffic Crash

Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Interstate 88 at milepost 28 westbound on July 10, 2008 at approximately 8:20 a.m. following a traffic crash. According to the report, Kimberly A. Windmuller of Libertyville, IL was westbound and fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle left the roadway and went into the ditch and through a fence and out onto Black Road. The vehicle received heavy damage and was towed from the scene.

The Prophetstown Ambulance transported both the driver and her daughter to the Morrison Hospital for treatment.

Prophetstown Fire, Lyndon Fire, Hunters Towing and Prophetstown Ambulance Service assisted deputies.

Arrest on Warrant

Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jermale L. Clark, age 25, of Kenosha, WI, following a traffic stop on Albany Road on July 11, 2008 at approximately 4 p.m. Clark was wanted on a Violation of Parole Warrant out of Wisconsin. No bond was set. He was transported to the Whiteside County Jail and is held pending extradition back to Wisconsin.

Accident with Injuries

Whiteside County Deputies investigated a two-vehicle accident with injuries. The accident occurred on Rock Falls Road about 1/10 of a mile east of Spruce Street in rural Rock Falls.

The accident occurred when a van bring driven by Carol Folker, 47, Rock Falls was traveling eastbound on Rock Falls Road. Folker attempted to pass a car and a semi tractor-trailer. When she was beside the semi front, the semi driver, Paul DeWeerth, 63, Henry, IL attempted to turn left into a business. The Folker vehicle was struck on the passenger side and skidded out of control. The Folker vehicle entered the north ditch and rolled over.

Folker and DeWeerth were transported to CGH Medical Center. Assisting at the scene were the Rock Falls Fire Department and CGH Ambulance.

The accident remains under investigation.
