2008 Year in Review

Russell R. Reed

Russell R. Reed, 93, of Sterling, died Thursday, June 26, 2008. He farmed for many years in Hopkins Township.

Mr. Reed was born Sept. 11, 1914, in Stainsleigh Alberta, Canada, the son of Charles F. and Etta (Royer) Reed. He married Evelyn Price on March 9, 1939, in Sterling. She preceded him in death on Aug. 5, 1995. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Sterling.

Survivors include two sons, Lyle Reed of Sterling and Donald (Bonnie) Reed of Morrison; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a sister, a brother, a grandchild, and a great-grandchild.

The funeral is private, with the Rev. Frank Berman, interim pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, Sterling, officiating. Visitation is from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling.
