Morrison Police Reports

Personal Injury Hit and Run
The Morrison Police Department investigated a personal injury hit and run traffic accident in the 400 block of East Main Street on July 10, 2008 at approximately 11 p.m. Chad Christopher, 18, Morrison, reported that a car stopped for him and two friends as they were crossing the street. Christopher advised that the drier exited his car and threatened the three with a tire iron. The driver then struck Christopher with his car and left the scene.
Shortly afterward, Illinois State Police stopped the vehicle suspected in the hit and run, and charged the driver, Aaron C. Hayes, 30, Morrison, with driving while intoxicated. Morrison Police charged Hayes with failure to report a personal injury accident and failure to provide immediate notice of an accident to police. Hayes was subsequently incarcerated at the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center pending an appearance before a judge. Hayes is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle
Jerry L. Scott, Jr., Morrison, reported on July 12, 2008, at approximately 10 a.m. that some time during the previous night, unknown individuals scratched his two vehicles with a sharp object. The damage occurred while the vehicles were parked in the 300 block of West Park Street.
