Myra Waters


April 02, 1915 - June 11, 2008

D. MYRA WATERS, 93, of 707 Deer View Lane, Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at her home.

Myra was born on April 2, 1915 in Mt. Carroll, IL to Charles and Henrietta (Tillema) Hamstra. She attended the rural Morrison, IL area grade schools, and graduated from Fulton High School. She attended Central College in Pella, IA. Myra served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. She married Otis Kurth on May 8, 1958 in New Nork, NY. He died on January 25, 1981. She then married Everett Waters on February 7, 1985 in Morrison, IL. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2008. Myra was employed at the Bank of New York as a Trust Administrator before retiring in 1977. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL. She was a former member of the Morrison Garden Club, serving as their president for several years. Myra enjoyed sewing and knitting.

Survivors include one brother, John J. Hamstra of Morrison, IL.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, Otis and Everett; one sister, Ellen Golding; two brothers, Alvin and Marvin Hamstra.

FUNERAL SERVICE WHEN AND WHERE: 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Jon Nienhuis, pastor of Ebenezer Reformed Church – Morrison, IL

VISITATION: 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, June 13, 2008, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Oak Knoll Cemetery – Sterling, IL
