Morrison Police Reports

Morrison Police charged Jason A. Bush, 23, Morrison, with failure to report an accident to police and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident on June 10, 2008. Bush was charged after police investigated a hit and run accident in the 100 block of East Main Street, that was reported during the early morning hours of June 6.

According to witnesses, Bush was westbound on Main Street, when the pickup he was driving struck a van owned by Robert F. Brandon, Morrison. Total damage to both vehicles exceeded $500. There were no injuries reported as a result of the collision. Bush was released on a notice to appear in court. Bush is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Morrison Police were called on June 13, 2008 at approximately 9:30 p.m. to a pedestrian hit and run accident at the intersection of Morris Street and Genesee Street. Sheldon G. Finley, 35, Clinton, Iowa, was crossing Morris Street, when an unknown vehicle struck Finley and left the scene. The suspect vehicle was described as a red compact car, possibly with a missing or damaged driver’s mirror.

Finley was transported to Morrison Hospital by the Morrison Ambulance, where he was treated and released with minor injuries. Anyone who may have any information regarding this incident is asked to call the Morrison Police Department at 815-772-7659.

Michele A. Schaefer, Morrison, reported on June 15, 2008 at approximately 11:12 a.m. that someone had “keyed” her car while it was parked in the Community State Bank parking lot on East Main Street. The damage is believed to have occurred some time the previous night.
