Trees Donated by ComEd in Observance of Arbor Day

by Mary Ellen Brackemyer - The Morrison Post

Six Crab Apple trees, donated to the City of Morrison by Commonwealth Edison, were planted along the roadside on Route 30 east of town on Friday, May 23 .

Jim Fox, ComEd External Affairs Manager (left) and Mayor Roger Drey (right) broke ground for the planting.

This is part of Commonwealth Edison’s Tree Donation Program. Every year they donate trees to communities as part of their observance of Arbor Day. Because of the overhead lines ComEd does have a say in what trees can be selected (trees that don’t grow too tall).

Every four years ComEd does a full trimming of trees and every other year a spot trimming.
