Two-Vehicle Accident with Injuries

Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a two-vehicle accident with injuries on June 5, 2008 at 11:13 p.m. The accident occurred at the intersection of Luther Road and Hurd Road in rural Tampico.

The accident occurred when a vehicle being driven by Brooke Wilson, 24, Tampico, was traveling northbound on Luther Road. Wilson failed to yield the right-of-way to a westbound vehicle which was driven by Gilbert Lawrenz, 69, Morrison.

Lawrenz and Wilson, along with Wilson’s three-year-old daughter were injured as a result of the accident. All were transported to CGH Medical Center.

Assisting at the scene were Tampico Fire Department and EMS, Walnut EMS and the Illinois State Police.

The accident remains under investigation.
