WCHD Provides West Nile Information on the Internet |
|
Whiteside County Health Department has created a new section on its Internet site with specific information about West Nile virus. “The West Nile virus Web page includes comprehensive information regarding West Nile virus, how it is transmitted and how people can protect themselves,” said Beth Fiorini, public health administrator. Frequently asked questions are featured on the main West Nile virus page, found at WCHD. Other features include charts showing the West Nile virus infection rates among mosquitoes, birds and horses for the past six years, and a diagram showing the transmission process of West Nile virus. To find the information, simply click on the West Nile Virus Information link on the left side of the main page opened at WCHD. Links to the West Nile virus Web sites of Illinois Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are available on the site. Questions about West Nile virus should be directed to Gene Johnson, environmental director of Whiteside County Health Department at (815) 772-7411, ext. 104. by Editor, theCity1.com |
