Rock Falls Residence Sustains Heavy Structure Damage

The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call on May 26, 2008 at approximately 12:44 a.m., indicating that a storm with strong winds had caused significant structural damage to a residence in the vicinity of Star and Buell Roads in rural Rock Falls.

Deputies responded to the area and discovered that several residences had suffered damages to out buildings as well as grain bins and vehicles. Although one residence had received heavy structure damage, no injuries were reported.

At the time of the incidence Whiteside County was under a tornado watch from 9 p.m., May 25 until 3 a.m., May 26. A follow-up inspection continued during daylight hours.
