Plop! Plop! Sizzle! Sizzle! Pancake batter hits the hot griddle. Morrison Fire Department held their Fireman’s Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, May 18. Nearly 1,000 people attended this annual event.

Pancakes, eggs, sausage and drinks were served to those patiently waiting in line for breakfast.

The proceeds from this year’s breakfast are going to assist the Morrison Fire Department in erecting a Morrison Firefighters Memorial Monument. The monument will be located near the Veterans Memorial Park at Grove Hill Cemetery. The monument layout will include a center monument stone with a list of Morrison firefighters who have served on the department over 25 years and have passed away. The stone will also include any member that passed away while an active member.

Surrounding the stone will be a stainless steel Maltese cross inlaid in concrete. The outer square area will contain a list of all retired members with over ten years of service to the department.

An original 1935 Chevy Pumper Truck, owned by fireman Randy Betts, brought a lot of attention. Children climbed aboard to sit in the driver’s seat and ring the bell.

The Morrison Fire Department would like to thank the public for all its support in the past, the present, and the future.
