Rural and Urban Safety Day 4 Kids Set for June 14, 2008

Each year hundreds of people including children are hurt or even killed in farm related accidents in the United States. Although agriculture is one of the most dangerous industries in the United States, it can also be the most awarding experience a person can have.

Children follow in the footsteps of their parents and even their grandparents. If a child sees a relative doing work that may be considered unsafe, in reality that child will mimic that person. So we must act what we preach and take appropriate measures in keeping children safe on and off the farm.

That’s why a Rural and Urban Safety Day 4 Kids has been schedule for Saturday, June 14, 2008. The mission for the Rural and Urban Safety Day 4 Kids is to educate and prevent kids from becoming another statistics in farm and non-farm related accidents. Safety and education will play an important role in reducing fatalities and injuries on and off the farm, which is being provided at the Rural and Urban Safety Day 4 Kids.

The Rural and Urban Safety Day 4 Kids will be held on June 14th at the Whiteside County Fair Grounds from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Some of the sessions for the day camp includes: Tractor/PTO Safety, Fire Safety, Lawn Mower Safety, Grain Flow Safety, Using 911, Gun Safety, Animal Safety, Ambulance Tour, and other exciting activities.
