DAVID S. TOPPERT, 59, of the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, IL formerly of Lyndon, IL, died Friday, April 18, 2008 at the Veterans Home.

David was born May 5, 1948 in Morrison, IL, to Clarence F. and Darlene (Doty) Toppert. He was educated in the Lyndon grade school and was a graduate of Lyndon High School. David served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, outdoor activities, and movies.

Survivors include his ex-wife, Gladys Toppert of Smyrna, GA; a daughter, Caroline Toppert of Dixon, IL; a granddaughter, Lillyan Toppert; and a brother, Richard (Felicia) Toppert of Moline, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Darrell Toppert.
