Calling All Livestock Judging Enthusiasts

The Whiteside County 4-H Livestock Judging Team will be hosting their Second Annual Whiteside County 4-H Livestock Judging Contest on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Whiteside County Fairgrounds in Morrison, Illinois. Registration for the contest will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

The contest is open to any current 4-H or FFA member. The contest will consist of a variety of divisions; Junior and Senior Teams and Junior and Senior Individuals. The Junior division will consist of any 4-H’er or FFA’er age 14 and under by January 1, 2008 and the Senior division will consist of any 4-H’er or FFA’er over the age of 14 as of January 1, 2008. Those that are entered as a team will also be entered into the individual competition.

The Whiteside County 4-H Livestock Judging Contest will consist of 2 Beef, 2 Sheep, 2 Swine, 1 Boer Goat and 1 Questions Class. This will be a great contest to gain more experience in the livestock judging area and there will be approximately $400 worth of prizes for winning teams and individuals.

This annual livestock judging contest is a fundraiser for the Whiteside County Livestock Judging Team. Cost for the contest is as follows: Pre-Enter by May 9, 2008 – Team: $30.00 and Individual: $10.00. Enter after May 9, 2008 – Team: $38.00 and Individual: $12.00. Lunch is included in the team/individual fee! Coaches/volunteers may purchase a lunch for $4.00 with your team/individual fees.
