Morrison Plant Sale - Saturday, May 3, 2008

Nonprofit horticulture groups, such as University of Illinois Master Gardeners will host a plant sale as a way to raise money for their activities, including education and beautifying their surroundings. The plant sale will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Whiteside County Extension Office, 100 East Knox Street, Morrison, IL. The plant sale will be from 8:00 am until 11:00 (or whenever the plants are gone).

How does the plant sale work? Gardeners, homeowners and people looking for great deals on plants may donate plants to the plant sale and Master Gardeners will be there to identify and split plants and answer any questions participants may have before purchasing plants. However, the key to make this plant sale work is to have participants donate plants like:
- Hostas
- Daylilies
- Rhubarb
- Irises
- Ornamental Grasses
- Herbs, (i.e. chives)
- Hedge Plants
- Autumn Joy Sedum

Most plants will sell for $2.00 or $3.00. If you would like to donate plants, please drop them off on Friday, May 2, 2008, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm at the Whiteside County Extension Office, Morrison, IL or you can drop them off at 7:30 am on Saturday, May 3 prior to the plant sale.

All proceeds will benefit University of Illinois Extension. For more information on the plant sale or if you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in this sale, please contact Greg Clark at the Whiteside County Extension at (815) 772-4075.
