Mother-Daughter-Friend Banquet at United Methodist Church

A “Mother-Daughter-Friend” Banquet will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2008 at the United Methodist Church. A sit down dinner will be served beginning at 6:00 P.M. The Banquet is an annual event honoring all mothers, daughters, and friends of each. Reservations are needed and tickets may be purchased from the church office or after each church service. Tickets for adults are $7.00 and $4.50 for children.

The evening’s entertainment will be Ron Eckberg, writer, singer, speaker, and entertainer. Forty years after stepping on stage for the first time, Ron is still doing what he loves. A native of Walnut, Illinois, Mr. Eckberg has been performing most of life, having acquired his love of music as a child in the 50’s and more dramatically as a teenager in the 60’s. That passion led to a series of successful rock and roll bands, and an even more successful career as a solo club singer.

In the late ‘70’s his life changed dramatically with his decision to follow Jesus Christ and to pursue a life in Christian music and ministry. He has taken his laid back style of Christian music to churches, camps, conferences, and concert stages throughout the United States.

Mr. Eckberg is currently Pastor of the Erie Evengelical Free Church in Erie, Illinois. He has also served as Pastor of the Walnut Community Bible Church for fifteen years and as director of the Bureau Valley Youth for Christ.

With his wide array of talents: singing, writing, speaking and entertaining, Ron Eckberg will both delight and inspire. All ladies of the church and community are invited to attend this special evening honoring and celebrating women.
