|
Six students from Ashford University – Mitch Seifert, Cale Clark, Mike Rosselli, Keegan Maxwell, Keith Caldwell and Cassie Broderick – represented Ashford at the Iowa Phi Beta Lambda Conference during the weekend of March 7th. This year’s conference was held at the University of Northern Iowa. Phi Beta Lambda is a national organization for students interested in a business career. The weekend long conference allowed these students to participate in various competitions and to network with other students who share similar career fields. In addition, a guest speaker shared important tips for getting into the workforce when they graduate. Ashford University was well represented during the competition with Seifert and Clark placing second in Website Development, Rosselli placing third in Public Speaking and fifth in Job Interview, and Maxwell placing fifth in Computer Concepts. Broderick placed fourth in the Business Communications competition. “This was the first time several of the PBL members had a chance to compete at the Spring Conference,” said David Ward, the group’s advisor. “I was proud of the way they participated and represented Ashford University.” Founded in 1918, Ashford University® is a coeducational institution regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, with programs in education, business, accounting, criminal and social justice, computer animation and graphic design, and other areas.
