Morrison Police Reports 03-31-08

Hit and Run
Wayne H. Engelkins, Chadwick, IL reported that an unknown vehicle struck the right rear fender of his pick-up truck on March 25, 2008 at approximately 2:30 p.m. The hit and run occurred sometime during the afternoon while the Engelkins vehicle was parked at Sullivan’s Foods. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident is asked to call the Morrison Police Department at 815-772-7659.

Second Offense of Domestic Battery
Morrison Police arrested Jeremy A. Kochevar, 21, Morrison on March 28, 2008, on one count of Domestic Battery – second offense. Kochevar was arrested after officers responded to several disturbance complaints at 113 ˝ West Main Street during the early morning hours of March 28. Kochevar was incarcerated at the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center, where a judge set his bail at $25,000.
Domestic Battery – second offense is a Class 3 Felony, punishable by two to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Kochevar is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Vehicle Burglary
Lloyd D. DeShane, Sr., 51, Morrison reported on March 28, 2008, that someone had entered his unlocked truck and took a briefcase containing work tools. The burglary occurred some time the previous night in the 100 block of West High Street.

Object Thrown at House Window
Frank R. Mendoza, 61, Morrison reported on March 28, 2008 at approximately 5 p.m., that someone had thrown an object at a window on the south side of his home. When Mendoza investigated the noise, he found a screen damaged. The incident occurred at the Mendoza residence, 510 South Madison Street.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle
Morrison Police arrested Jonathan L. Eads, 19, Morrison on March 28, 2008 at approximately 11:15 p.m. on a charge of Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. Eads was charged after a resident at 601 North Base Street caught Eads in the resident’s vehicle. The resident detained Eads until police arrived. Eads is currently on parole after being convicted of a previous charge of Burglary to a Motor Vehicle.
Eads was incarcerated at the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center pending an appearance before a judge. Eads is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
