Kenneth Workman, 73, of Morrison, died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford. He owned and operated White Hen Pantry, Sterling, for many years and was employed by Wolohan Lumber, Sterling, as a manager for many years. Mr. Workman was born April 26, 1934, in Morrison, the son of Howard and Katherine (Zuidema) Workman. He married Lois Ericksen on Sept. 20, 1953, in Sterling. Survivors include his wife; daughter, Lynette (David) Kent, of Milledgeville; two sons, Steven (Pam) Workman, of Sterling, and Kelvin (Vicky) Workman, of Mesa, Ariz.; sister, Leona (Alvin) VanZuiden, of Morrison; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lowell and Arthur Workman; and a sister, Dorothy Wagner. The funeral is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sterling, with the Rev. Patrick Pinion and David Ericksen, pastor, co-officiating. Burial is at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at McDonald-Allen-Grennan Funeral Home, Sterling. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Christ Lutheran School and Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, both in Sterling. by Editor, theCity1.com |
