Lloyd E. Conklen, 77 of Rock Falls died Tuesday March 11, 2008 at his home.

Lloyd was born on January 13, 1931 in Rock Falls the son of Onno and Ella (Dirks) Conklen. He married Phyllis A. Waldschmidt on February 16, 1952 in Rock Falls. Lloyd was employed as an auto mechanic for many years retiring in 1987 from Sterling Ford. He enjoyed watching stock car and NASCAR racing and going snowmobiling as well as attending his grandchildren's sporting activities.

His survivors include his wife, Phyllis; their children, Debra (Mike) Miller of Morrison, Ronald (Debra) Conklen of Sterling, Susan (Brett) Knowles and Brenda (Dennis) Miller both of Rock Falls and Sharon (Brock) Rude of Sterling; his sister, Maxine Spencer of Rock Falls; nine grandchildren: Hillary and Meredith Miller; Amber (Zack) Olson, Amy (Chad) Ryan; Breanne and Logan Knowles; Shelby Miller; and Nick and Brady Rude; and one great grand daughter, Emma Olson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Donald Conklen.

Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday March 14, 2008 at 11 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls with the Reverend Louis Tosto officiating. Burial will follow at Coloma Township Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 5-8 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls.
