Whiteside County Sheriff’s Reports

Whiteside County Deputies made a traffic stop on a vehicle on Illinois 88 near Rock Falls on February 24, 2008 at approximately 2 a.m., following a citizen report and after observing the vehicle swerve in both lanes of traffic. Arrested was 24-year-old Michael W. Kunz of Dickinson, N.D. for Improper Lane Usage and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Kunz was released on a promise to comply bond.

Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 34-year-old Victor Erickson of Rock Falls on February 25, 2008 at approximately 1:15 p.m. for Disorderly Conduct (making a false report on 911). Erickson was released on a Notice to Appear.

Whiteside County Deputies arrested Steven J. Byrd, 35, Rock Falls on February 25 at approximately 1:24 a.m. following a disturbance call. Byrd was arrested for Illegal Possession of Cannabis less than 2.5 grams. Byrd was issued a Notice to Appear for Bond.

Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department arrested William R. Parvin, 46, Rock Falls, on March 3, 2008 at 2:15 p.m. on the charges of Felony Theft and Home Repair Fraud. The charges came about after a long investigation. Parvin was processed and released on a Notice to Appear in court on March 17, 2008.

Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jacob Davis, 19, Fulton for Residential Burglary on March 12, 2008, after deputies concluded an investigation of the burglary of a rural Fulton home. Davis was taken to the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center in Morrison where he is being held pending a court hearing.

Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies are currently investigating a two-vehicle accident, which happened on March 13, 2008 at approximately 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of Garden Plain Road and Frog Pond Road, southeast of Fulton. A Burlington North Santa Fe Railroad truck driven by Robert B. Halstead, 38, Dubuque, IA was traveling northbound on Frog Pond Road when he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Garden Plain Road. The truck collided with a Dodge van driven by Michael E. Eviston, 55, Loves Park, IL. Eviston had to be extricated from his vehicle by the Albany Fire Department and was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Clinton, IA by Albany Ambulance. Fulton and Morrison Police Departments and Midwest collision from Fulton assisted deputies at the scene. Charges are pending in the accident.
