Allen R. Holesinger


February 10, 1931 - March 03, 2008

ALLEN R. HOLESINGER, 77, of 716 – 7th Avenue, Fulton, IL, died Monday, March 03, 2008, in his home.

Allen was born February 10, 1931, in Fulton, to George and Flora (Post) Holesinger. He was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and graduated from Fulton High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He married Carol M. Anderson on May 4, 1958, in Clinton, IA. Allen resided in the Garden Plain area of rural Fulton for 45 years. He owned and operated Allen Holesinger Trucking for 45 years. During that time he was also employed by the former Medenblik Trucking in Garden Plain. Following his retirement he worked for Balk Trucking in Thomson, IL. Allen was a member of Second Reformed Church in Fulton. He was a 4-H softball coach, enjoyed bowling and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; one daughter, Cheryl Holesinger RN, OCN of Fulton, IL; four sons, Steven (Julie) Holesinger of Dyer, IN, Jeffery Holesinger of Fulton, Dr. Terry (Sabina) Holesinger, Ph.D. of Los Alamos, NM, and David (Mimi) Holesinger, MBA of Dubuque, IA; twelve grandchildren, Bryce Holesinger-Bailey; Tyler, Kaitlyn, Olivia, Noah and Madilyn Holesinger; Jacob, Gabriel and Sylvia Holesinger; David Jr., Emma and George Holesinger; two brothers, Donald (Audrey) Holesinger and Richard (Judy) Holesinger, both of Fulton, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 PM Thursday – March 6, 2008 at the Fulton Chapel – Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

OFFICIATING: Rev. Scott Stephan – Pastor: Second Reformed Church – Fulton, IL

VISITATION: 5:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday – March 5, 2008 at the Fulton Chapel – Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Fulton Township Cemetery – Fulton, IL
