MARCILE K. JONES, 86, of 417 8th Avenue, Fulton, IL, died Saturday, March 1, 2008 at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA.

Marcile was born August 19, 1921, in Savanna, IL, to Oran and Elsie (Collier) Ritchie. She was educated in the Savanna grade schools and graduated from Savanna High School in 1939. She married John C. Jones on May 24, 1941 in Canton, MO. He died July 2, 1999. After graduating from High School, Marcile was employed by Northwestern Illinois Utility in Savanna. Later she worked for G.E. in Morrison, IL, retiring in 1971. She was a member of the Fulton Presbyterian Church. She was a charter member of the Wa-Tan-Ye Club in Fulton and enjoyed the fun and camaraderie shared with her fellow club members. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star – Merton Chapter #356 – where she held many offices.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; three brothers, Lyle, Wayne and Robert Ritchie.
