Morrison Police Reports 3-17-08

Morrison Police investigated a hit and run accident on March 11, 2008 at approximately 8:48 p.m. at the Morrison Community Hospital parking lot. A car owned by Theresa A. Walerius, Albany, Illinois, was struck by an unknown vehicle while the Walerius car was parked and unoccupied. The collision occurred some time during the evening hours. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call the Morrison Police Department at 815-772-7659.

Larry E. Pape, Morrison reported on March 11, 2008 at approximately 11:01 p.m. that someone had stolen his bowling ball from his pickup truck, while the truck was parked at Hilltop Lanes Bowling Alley. The bowling ball, with an estimated value of $100 was taken from the unlocked truck some time during the evening.

Morrison Police charged a 14-year-old juvenile with aggravated batter on March 12, 2008 at approximately 8 p.m. The juvenile was charged after police responded to a call of a fight at the Odell Public Library. The juvenile was transported to Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center where he was later released to the custody of a parent. The case has been referred to the Whiteside County State’s Attorney’s Office for adjudication.

Morrison Police arrested Joshua R. Swanson, 18, Morrison, on March 13, 2008 at approximately 11:36 p.m., with one (1) count of unlawful consumption of alcohol. Swanson was charged after police responded to a domestic disturbance at 113 ½ West Main Street. Swanson was transported to the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center where he was later released on a notice to appear in court. Swanson is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Morrison Police investigated a two-vehicle accident on March 14, 2008, at approximately 9:08 p.m. at Beck’s Convenience Store. A car driven by Jeremy A. Kochevar, 21, Prophetstown, was eastbound in the driveway of Beck’s, when the Kochevar vehicle struck a van driven by Jason L. Wiersema, 23, Morrison. There were no injuries reported as a result of the collision. Total damage to both vehicles exceeded $500. Kochevar was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license. Kochevar is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
