ILA M. GORZNEY, 89, of Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton, IA, died Thursday, February 21, 2008, at the Alverno.

Ila was born August 15, 1918 in Thomson, IL, to Wesley and Blanche (Albright) Martindale. She was educated in the Thomson grade schools and was a graduate of Thomson High School. Ila married Arthur B. Gorzney on October 27, 1937 in Morrison, IL. He died April 11, 1972. She was employed by General Electric in Morrison for over 30 years and a member of the GEM Club. Ila enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and the company of her grandchildren.

Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Petersen of LaCrosse, WI; two sons, Douglas (Vicki) Gorzney of Cordova, IL and Roger Gorzney of Clinton, IA; six grandchildren, Jon (Rachael) Petersen, David Petersen & Friend Barb Frahm, Jolene (Chad) Comer, Aaron Gorzney, Tara (Cory) Luther, and Tyler Gorzney; ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son-in-law, Richard Petersen; six sisters, and three brothers.

VISITATION: 3:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday – February 24, 2008 at the Morrison Chapel – Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery – Morrison, IL
