Allen Voorhees, 61, of Morrison, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Morrison. He was employed by Penberthy's, Prophetstown, and most recently by Al's Place, Morrison. Mr. Voorhees was born Dec. 26, 1946, the son of Gerald Dean and Mildred Eileen (Zuck) Voorhees. He served in the Army. He married Gayle Minier Arians on Nov. 3, 1990, in Morrison. He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church, Morrison. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kittie (Larry) Mital, of Coyne Center, and Gayla (Brent) Cordes, of Farmer City; four sons, Dean (Dena) Voorhees, of Davenport, Iowa, Harlan (Deborah) Arians, of Denver, Iowa, Harold (Lisa) Arians of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Harvey Arians, of Grand Haven, Mich.; sister, Elaine (Terry) Peck, of Prophetstown; brother, Jerry (Lynn) Voorhees, of Crystal Lake; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The funeral is at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Morrison, with the Rev. Bob Burton, pastor, officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements were completed by Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. A memorial has been established. by Editor, theCity1.com |
