Gerald E. Hook


October 31, 1931 - February 19, 2008

GERALD E. HOOK, 76, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the nursing home.

Gerald was born October 31, 1931 in Fulton, IL, to Peter and Winifred (Bronkema) Hook. He was educated in the rural Whiteside County schools. He married Dorothy M. Foster on January 24, 1951 in Morrison, IL. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict from 1951 to 1953. Gerald was employed with Paul Balk Construction, Nelson Corp., International Harvester, and retired from Case IH in Moline, IL. Gerald was a member of the Fulton American Legion Post #402 for 48 years, serving twice as commander.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Sandra Hook of Germantown, WI and Trudy Woods of Clinton, IA; two sons, Timothy Hook and Thomas (Nancy) Hook both of Fulton, IL; three grandchildren, Salena (Joe) Tingley, Chris Woods, and Zachary Hook; two sisters, Marilyn (Frank) Freas of Albany, IL and Phyllis (Willard) Huizenga of Morrison, IL; one brother, Donald (Carol) Hook of Fulton, IL.

He was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Debbie; two sons in infancy, Scott and Randy; and one brother, Robert Hook.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 AM, Monday, February 25, 2008 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

OFFICIATING: Pastor Wayne Wiersema, Pastor of Gateway Faith Fellowship – Fulton, IL

VISITATION: 2:00 to 5:00 PM, Sunday, February 24, 2008 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Cottonwood Cemetery – Morrison, IL
