HELEN E. HAMMOND, 86, of 18930 16th Street, Fulton, IL, died Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA.

Helen was born June 15, 1921, in Carrollton, IL, to Claude and Clella (Fulton) Murphy. She was educated in the Mt. Carroll Grade and High School in Mt. Carroll, IL. She married David L. Hammond on December 24, 1937 in Davenport, IA. He died July 22, 1997. Helen was a homemaker, and an avid Cubs fan.

Survivors include three daughters, Janice (Mrs. Bill) Graham of Fenton, IL, Mary Duncan and Cheryl Boelkins, both of Fulton, IL; two sons, David “Butch” (Sylvia) Hammond of Fulton and Steve (Laura) Hammond of Clinton, IA; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David and one brother, Richard Murphy.

OFFICIATING: Rev. E.C. (Clair) Lathrop – Associate Pastor First Reformed Church – Fulton, IL

VISITATION: No Visitation – The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements

INTERMENT: Fulton Township Cemetery –Fulton, IL
