Ignoring Your Chronic Health Condition?

Ignoring a chronic condition will not make it go away. Suffering is simply a poor management technique. So, if you live with a long-term health condition 24/7, why not learn how to more effectively manage it and live an active and fulfilling life? Believe it or not, although the specifics of managing each condition vary, the skills for managing most chronic conditions are actually quite similar.

Live Well Be Well is a program designed to help you become a better health manager! Classes will be offered Monday evenings from 6-8:30 PM at the CGH Professional Building in Sterling starting March 10th and ending April 21st 2008.

Classes are highly participative, taught by one or more instructors who live with chronic disease, and built upon the successful outcomes of each individual. Subjects covered include dealing with difficult emotions; improving and maintaining strength, flexibility, and endurance; appropriate use of medications; communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals; nutrition; and much more.

For further information or to register, please contact your local Extension office at 815-772-4075 or Register Online. CGH Medical Center and University of Illinois Extension provide equal opportunities in programs & employment. If you need reasonable accommodation to participate in this program, please call. Cost is $20 and included materials. Registrations due March 3rd.
